my part of the talk!

Good Morning/Afternoon,
We were asked to design a marketing pitch for Brainient software, to help approach a new client base, and possibly a new demographic of users. This was quite a challenge, so we all went away and researched into who would best make use of this new piece of software.

The most prominent idea we struck upon was to market it to individuals such as ourselves. New university leavers are faced with the challenge of marketing themselves to the companies that they would like to work for. With thousands of people hitting the job market every june, new and exciting methods are needed to stand out from the crowd!

We believe that this is where brainient software comes in. uni leavers can utalize the software to help sell themselves, by linking the showreels they send out directly to there website or digital portfolio. Those unfamiliar with complex flash built apps would now have the power of a professional applet builder at their finger tips.

I hope that by the end of our presentation, you will agree that brainient in the hands of young individuals such as ourselves in a years time, will be a great step forward for the company in gaining a valuable new demographic.

---End of introduction---

So in summary, our pitch is aimed at new uni leavers and young prospective professionals looking to stand out from the crowd, We plan to advertise through social and business networking sites such as facebook and linked in, we plan to visit universities and pitch this software directly, and possibly include such things as student licenses to make it more accessible to our demographic.

Thank you for listening to our pitch to approach this new demographic of users. If we left you in any doubt, then we can now answer any questions you may have. Thank you.

project marketing stratergy!

ok so now everyone agreed to my idea, we had tried to meet up a couple of times bu unfortunatly we had no joy as we all have our own commitments.

soinsted i thought i would just writ up our stratergy myself an see if everyone approves. so here is our stratergy i made!

Our Focus:
we would like to promote brainient software to freelance artists, and those wishing to promote themselves to larger companies. We would like to show this demographic examples of how brainient can be applied to their showreels or other online based work to further promote themselves in ways such as links to other work they have done, or what they looked at whilst doing it, or even links to such artifacts as their C.V. Or personal statements.

Our Pitch:
Our pitch is based on the fact that a larger company may not be interested in the software, as their marketing department could simply hire a flash user to design something more beneficial for the company, which would be complex and custom made, where as a freelancer may not themselves know flash, and the financial aspect of hireing such a profesional would be out of the question.

Our Demographic:
Our key demographic is people such as:
-students leaving university wanting to showcase their work
-free lancers or people who own small privately owned business ventures
-small companies wishing to attract a larger client base, without wanting to spend too much or hire excess staff

Our stratergy:
Our stratergy for marketing this software falls mainly around advertising on the internet, in places such as social networking websites, business networking sites, recruitment websites and approaching individuals whom we find by employing google scouts.

What will online advertising cost brainient?
The following is based on a per-website basis for common social networking sites and business networking sites:
tower ad (120 x 60) : between 」155 / 」235 a year
tower ad (120 x 90) : between 」235 / 」350 a year
banner ad (468 x 60) : between 」390 / 」585 a year

Our presentation:
for our presentation we plan to aproach univeristies, and invite many young individuals showcase how brainient can help promote young individuals. We will provide 5 individual examples of the use of brainient in helping individuals.

pitch to my group!

hey guys, ive just thought of an idea for our group if people are up for it :)

our concept could be that we will be aproaching freelance artists and oporatives in media to help them use brainient to help market themselves in their showreels/video work.

this would mean that we could all just use brainient in conjunction with our own work/showreels, and use them as demonstrations of how people may choose to use the software.

we would then just need to prepare some things to talk about during the 5 minutes, and we could have our work or showreels playing in the background? :)

--------------------------
everyone agreed to my pitch on the facebook group i made, so were going with this idea!

our key demographic!

ok so now i think we need to think about who we are pitching this to. the most prominent demographic i can think of is students like ourselves.

every june hundreds of thousands of students leave university and are looking for jobs at the same time. they all need to stand out from eachother when showcasing theri skills, whether it be in film and broadcast, animation or sound, fasion or design, everyone will be wanting to show their work in new and interesting ways so as to stand out from the crowd.

enter brainient. students can use brainient in their final year of university to add the flash functionality to such things as their showreel and their fmps. this is just my idea so far so i will now pitch it to my group.

Monday 25 April 2011

so what is brainient?

i think the first thing to do is talk about what brainient is!

so after reviewing the software, it is apparent that brainient is an applet based around adobe flash. it has pre constructed elements that anyone who knows how to use flash could custom create. so it must be for people who may never have learned flash, but would still like to have its functionality available to them.

we shall need to bare this in mind when choosing a key demographic ect.

e and e level 3

this year our e and e task is to create a marketing pitch for brainient software, to pitch as if we were pitching to a marketing director of brainient.

we have met up with our group and the first thing i did was create a group on facebook to keep everyone involved.

one thing i will say at the start of this project is that unfortunatly i happen to work on mondays and tuesdays to support me being here at uni, so i will be un able to attend the further lessons schedualed on these days. i have cleared this with the tutors and this is fine by them, as long as i stay in contact with my group and do my fair share of the work as i intend to.
